There’s no rush here

A small family hotel in Zawoja Wilczna, at the foot of Babia Góra – 80 km from Kraków and about 1 h 40 min from Kraków Airport. You wake to the sound of the stream and set off on the trail straight from the door.

We are in Zawoja – the longest village in Poland, in the Małopolska region, on the northern slopes of Babia Góra – the highest peak of the Żywiec Beskids (1725 m above sea level). Zawoja lies in the valley of the Skawica and its tributaries, ringed by three mountain ranges: the Jałowiec range, the Babia Góra massif and the Polica range.

Décor

Timber, murals and highland patterns

Step inside a space finished in natural timber, combined with regional highland accents.

The traditional timber pays tribute to the old way of building – together with the more modern brick it makes a backdrop that echoes the past. The walls are not left bare: local culture speaks through colourful murals, pictures and photographs.

Nature has made its way indoors too. Tree trunks fill the restaurant dining room, and for a moment you are in a forest in the Beskids. The finishing touches are specially made moss arrangements, plenty of plants and flowers.

A hotel where boredom never calls in

Awake early with no plan? Fun and relaxation before breakfast? The indoor pool with the paddling pool opens at 6:00. The swings, the trampoline by the stream and the mini football pitch are yours at any hour. By the summer pool there is a playground with a sandpit and a badminton net.

And if the weather turns? The playroom with a slide and table football, Xbox Kinect games, table tennis, board games and bowling for the whole family.

By the stream · 80 m²

A barbecue shelter right by the stream

The shelter stands a few dozen metres from reception, on the bank of the Jaworzyna. Under the roof there are 80 m², long benches, a place for the barbecue and a place for the campfire.

The shelter has a system of clear protective walls that keep out the rain and the wind – you no longer have to give up on being outdoors for fear of the weather. On colder days we put on extra heating.

Entertainment one floor down – until 1am

Two bowling lanes, a billiard table, your favourite drink and a savoury snack – in the hotel club, one floor below reception, an intimate space for relaxing and playing is waiting for you. It's your plan for a rainy day, or an unhurried afternoon and evening when you don't feel like looking for things to do outside.

The whole family can bowl with us – for the youngest we raise the bumpers so the ball stays out of the gutter, hand out a ramp to roll from and lighter balls, and we have shoes in small sizes too.

Villa Jawor – a second home by the stream

Sixty metres from reception, off to one side, by the Jaworzyna stream, stands Villa Jawor. It's the hotel's younger sibling – an intimate space with a shared room and kitchen. From the Villa's door to the relaxation area by the stream is just a few steps.

The rooms in the Villa are doubles, with a balcony and air conditioning. In some of them an extra bed is possible. The Villa can also be booked for exclusive hire – most often chosen by large families and groups.

As a guest of the Villa, you have breakfast, the Wellness area and the hotel's other amenities – exactly as if you were staying in the main building.

Bikes and skis to hire on site

The Jawor rental is next to the hotel, a few dozen steps from reception. You pick the equipment up and hand it back here, so you are not carrying bikes on the roof halfway across Poland or skis in the boot for one weekend.
