Church of St Clement – 4.9 km from the hotel
A wooden church from 1888, the point everything else in Zawoja is measured from. Ten minutes down the valley, and entry is free.

The oldest landmark in the valley
The church went up in 1888 and it is still the easiest point of reference in Zawoja – when someone here says ‘by the church’, this is the place they mean.
The building is timber, in a Tyrolean and Scandinavian style that is not what you expect in the Beskids. Inside there are six altars and painted decoration. A quarter of an hour is enough to see it, but it is a quarter of an hour that explains how the village grew.
Entry is free. You can look round from Wednesday to Saturday, 9:00–18:00, and on Sundays 12:00–17:00, outside service times.

You have to drive to the church, but the hotel’s own neighbourhood has places worth seeing too – and for those, boots are enough.
